Corporate Partner Rajib Chanda was quoted in a Fund Board Views article titled, “Recruiting in the time of coronavirus,” which explores differing views on how mutual funds boards may proceed with recruiting efforts during the coronavirus pandemic. The article highlights some of the challenges that may arise from virtual recruiting, such as the importance of chemistry when recruiting a director. Rajib notes that he is currently working with several fund boards at various stages of recruitment and while he expects those efforts to continue, they may not conclude until in-person meetings can take place. Rajib explains that absent a reason to fill the vacancy immediately, his assumption is that “…that boards [will] keep the process moving, figure out who can be independent, who seems like a good fit, have Zoom meetings, until such time as they can break bread together."
