Litigation Partner Brooke Cucinella was quoted in a Law360 article titled, “Grand Jurors In SDNY Get Video Option Amid Virus Outbreak.” The article discusses the S.D.N.Y.’s plan to launch a videoconferencing system to allow grand jurors in the vast district to convene while limiting travel and close physical contact. In an unprecedented move to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, grand jurors will be able to select from locations in White Plains or in lower Manhattan. Brooke notes that the technological solution is a good idea, as the reported rise of coronavirus scams, along with other offenses, necessitate the continued viability of the grand jury. “There are some cases that can’t wait,” Brooke says.
