The Firm represented the Animal Legal Defense Fund and the Humane Society of the United States in filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission urging it to investigate the pet leasing industry for deceptive and unfair business practices. The complaint asks the FTC to investigate Wags Lending and its associated pet stores for deceptive practices that lead consumers to sign leases for pets that they believe they are actually purchasing. The complaint also asks the FTC to investigate Monterey Financial Services for its involvement in collecting the lease payments.
