Simpson Thacher has been recognized by Asian-MENA Counsel’s Deals of the Year 2017 for deals completed within the Asia and the Middle East. The Firm had two deals recognized as “Winning Deals of the Year 2017” and three deals recognized as “Honourable Mentions: Deals of the Year 2017.”
Winning deals include Simpson Thacher’s representation of ChemChina in its $43 billion acquisition of Syngenta and representation of KKR, Dr. Ravi Penmetsa and certain of his affiliates and Gland Pharma Limited in the acquisition by Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co. Ltd .
Deals earning Honourable Mention include Simpson Thacher’s representation of Goldman Sachs, Daiwa Securities and Nomura Securities, the joint global coordinators of a ¥1.3 trillion (approximately US$11.6 billion) offering of shares of Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd.; Blackstone in connection with its $6.5 billion sale to HNA Group of 25% of Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. and two other public companies that were spun off from Hilton; and KKR in connection with its acquisition of Calsonic Kansei Corporation.
