Banking and Credit Partner Jennifer Hobbs spoke on a panel for the Transforming Women’s Leadership in the Law: Best Practices and Lessons Learned from the 2017 Rising Stars Cohort event in New York on December 13. The panel was titled “The Shattered Ceiling: Thoughts from Female Legal Executive Leadership,” which focused on women at influential law firms. Jennifer and the other panelists (Jami McKeon, Chair of Morgan Lewis, and Valerie Radwaner, Deputy Chair of Paul Weiss) shared stories of their own individual professional journeys and perspectives on female leadership in law firms and related topics. The event was sponsored by The Thomson Reuters Legal Executive Institute.
The panel was moderated by Deirdre Stanley, General Counsel of Thomson Reuters, and is part of the Thomson Reuters Transforming Women’s Leadership in the Law Initiative - 2017 Rising Stars Cohort, which was formed by Thomson Reuters in an effort to bring together women leaders from law firms, women general counsel and other women in corporate legal departments in order to further opportunities for mentorship, business development and networking. The 2017 Rising Stars Cohort consists of nine female partners, including Simpson Thacher Partner Karen Kelley, who was in attendance at the event.
