Simpson Thacher Of Counsel Marissa Wesely was recently announced as a recipient of the 2014 Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award by the ABA Commission on the Status of Women. This year's formal award ceremony will take place at the ABA annual meeting in Boston on August 10, 2014.  The award recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of women lawyers who have excelled in their field and inspired other women lawyers.  Ms. Wesely is being honored for her work in mentoring and promoting women in the legal profession, through such initiatives as the Kate Stoneman Project, in increasing gender diversity on corporate boards through her work with DirectWomen, and in helping empower women around the world, as a board member of the Global Fund for Women and in her current role as a Fellow in Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative and a Global Fellow at the Wilson Center affiliated with its Global Women's Leadership Initiative.
