Firm Helps Qimonda Richmond To Obtain Bankruptcy Court Approval for Sale of Semiconductor Manufacturing Assets

Simpson Thacher assisted Qimonda Richmond in obtaining bankruptcy court approval for a sale of semiconductor manufacturing assets to Texas Instruments Incorporated for $172.5 million. Simpson Thacher represents Qimonda Richmond and Qimonda North America Corp. in their chapter 11 cases, which were filed on February 20, 2009 in the United States Bankruptcy Court in Delaware. Simpson Thacher continues to advise both debtors in winding up their businesses and liquidating their other assets.

Qimonda North America Corp. and Qimonda Richmond, LLC are subsidiaries of the German company, Qimonda AG, which was one of the world’s leading producers of dynamic random access memory (DRAM) semiconductors.
