The Firm recently represented J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. as sales agent in an equity distribution program for Martin Marietta Materials, Inc.
Under the program, Martin Marietta Materials sold approximately $238 million of common stock over a one-month period through J.P. Morgan. Martin Marietta Materials is using the net proceeds from the program for working capital and other general corporate purposes. Martin Marietta Materials’ common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “MLM”.
Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is a leading producer of aggregates for the construction industry and also manufactures and markets specialty products, such as magnesia-based chemical products, used in industrial, agricultural and environmental applications.
The Simpson Thacher team for the transaction included, among others, Glenn M. Reiter, Juan Francisco Mendez and Xiaohui Lin (Capital Markets), and Jonathan Cantor (Tax).
