On November 14, 2008, Legal Outreach held its first constitutional law debate of the year at New York University Law School. Simpson Thacher sponsored this debate, in which high school sophomores tackled Miranda rights. Litigation associate Carlos López was one of the judges in the competition, and addressed the students at the conclusion of the event. Legal Outreach prepares urban youth from underserved communities in new York City to compete at high academic levels by using intensive legal and educational programs.
