Simpson Thacher is again hosting an Election Protection National Call Center in the NY office and providing volunteers to local call centers from the Washington and Palo Alto offices in connection with the November 2008 general election.  Election Protection, the nation's largest nonpartisan voter assistance coalition, offers a hotline (1-866-OUR-VOTE)  to provide comprehensive information to voters to help eligible voters to vote and have their votes counted.  Due to the heavy volume of calls, the Firm will  open its National Call Center early, beginning on Thursday, October 30, 2008  and running  Friday, Monday, and Tuesday, Election Day (November 4) .  Simpson Thacher  is primarily responsible for calls from Michigan, New Jersey, Kentucky, Alabama, Nebraska, Delaware and Pennsylvania.  Individuals from across the Firm have been instrumental in supporting this  nonpartisan effort. Election Protection is administered by the firm's pro bono client, the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.  For more on Election Protection, please visit http://www.866ourvote.org.
