Simpson Thacher and Accenture co-hosted an invitation-only women's event focused on visionary leadership through non profit board service. The event was moderated by author and non profit consultant Alice Korngold and included interactive discussion from panelists Victoria Bjorklund, Partner at Simpson Thacher; Beth Roberts, Managing Partner at Accenture; Emily Rafferty, President of the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Karenna Gore Schiff, Author; and Stephanie March, Broadway, film and television actress.
The program addressed a range of topics, including how to find the right non profit board service opportunities, how to become a sought-after board member, and questions that should be asked before becoming a board member. Key points from Victoria Bjorklund's "Your Not-for-Profit Board Service: Do’s and Don’ts" past seminar also contributed to the event. All of the panelists sit on prominent boards including Safe Horizon, Sanctuary for Families, World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, Women’s World Banking, Robin Hood Foundation, Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton, American Friends of the Louvre, among others.
