Barrie Covit Quoted in Law360 on H1 2024 Private Equity Trends

Private Funds Partner Barrie Covit was quoted in a Law360 article titled, “Record PE Dry Powder Shows Slowed Exit Activity, Attys Say,” which detailed the 2024 private equity environment during the first half of the year. Barrie noted that “Retail is by far the biggest headline event of the year in terms of every sponsor of scale looking at how they can tap into that market.” He further explained that “Retail funds are effectively a permanent source of capital.” As a “very attractive source of capital,” Barrie also discussed how retail funds are the result of historical restrictions on how capital could be raised from a federal securities law perspective and represent a "largely untapped" market.
