Leah Malone, Head of Simpson Thacher’s ESG and Sustainability Practice, was quoted in articles by The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, InvestmentNews and Compliance Week, which discussed the implications of the U.S. Supreme Court decision overruling the Chevron deference on ESG rulemaking. Leah noted to The Wall Street Journal, “It’s hard to overstate the impact that this ruling could have on the regulatory landscape in the United States going forward.” On the impact that the decision could have on the SEC’s climate rule, she indicated to Reuters that the ruling, “raises even further questions about the survival of the climate rule, as well as other pending rule proposals that have been in the spotlight.”
