Simpson Thacher Partner David Blass and Counsel Jacqueline Edwards have been named among the finalists for the “Independent Counsel of the Year” Award as part of the With Intelligence Mutual Fund & ETF Awards 2024. David and Jacque were jointly shortlisted in recognition of their work as counsel to Independent Trustees of numerous funds on highly complex, substantively novel matters. Additionally, J.P. Morgan Asset Management has been named a finalist in the “Fund Innovation of the Year” category for its successful launch, with the assistance of Simpson Thacher, of the JPMorgan Private Markets Fund—a 1940 Act-registered, semi-liquid evergreen fund providing individual investors exposure to private equity investments by primarily utilizing secondaries, co-investments and, opportunistically, primary investments to access buyout, venture and growth opportunities.
