Kaufman Astoria Studios Acquired By Hackman Capital Partners and Square Mile Capital Management

Simpson Thacher is representing Kaufman Astoria Studios in its sale to real estate investment management companies Hackman Capital Partners and Square Mile Capital Management. The property, which is the original home of Paramount Pictures, is comprised of 11 sound stages and approximately 500,000 square feet of production space. Kaufman Astoria Studios in recent years has played host to Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black, Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, and movies like Men in Black 3 and The Bourne Legacy and is the longtime home of Sesame Street. The studios feature New York City’s only studio back lot. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
