Simpson Thacher is representing Huws Gray in connection with its acquisition of the generalist builders’ merchanting business of Grafton Group plc. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approval by the Competition and Markets Authority.
Huws Gray, which is owned by private equity funds advised by Blackstone, has agreed to acquire the generalist builders’ merchanting businesses from Grafton Group plc, which comprises approximately 200 merchant branches with 3,500 staff. Simpson Thacher represented Blackstone on its investment in Huws Gray.
