Simpson Thacher Represents Initial Purchasers in Sale of $450 Million Senior Notes by Kosmos Energy

Simpson Thacher represented the initial purchasers, led by global coordinators Merrill Lynch International, Standard Chartered Bank and ING Bank N.V., in the sale of an aggregate principal amount of $450 million 7.5% Senior Notes due 2028 by Kosmos Energy Ltd. (“Kosmos”). Kosmos will use a portion of the net proceeds from the offering to repay outstanding indebtedness under its revolving credit facility and its commercial debt facility. The size of the offering was upsized from $400 million. Since 2014, Simpson Thacher has represented the financing sources on more than $2 billion of debt and equity financings by Kosmos.

Kosmos is a full-cycle deepwater independent oil and gas exploration and production company focused along the Atlantic Margin.
