John Bennett Featured in ABC News Video Interview About Election Protection

Counsel John Bennett was interviewed by ABC News correspondent Devin Dwyer as part of a video segment titled, “The Volunteers Protecting the Right to Vote,” which focused on the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law Election Protection Hotline program and volunteers’ efforts to ensure that eligible voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots. John, who has volunteered as part of the Election Protection Hotline for 12 years, discussed his role helping citizens understand voting rules, including answering questions around voter registration and this year’s absentee voting process. John stressed the need to prepare for this year’s election season, saying, “If you do want to vote by mail, request your ballot as soon as you can.”
Simpson Thacher will host its ninth Election Protection Hotline volunteer session on November 2-3, 2020.
