Simpson Thacher Represents Blackstone in Financing the Acquisition of iQ

Simpson Thacher represented Blackstone in financing the acquisition of the iQ student housing company from Goldman Sachs and the Wellcome Trust for £4.7 billion. The largest ever private real estate transaction in the UK will be partly financed using senior debt facilities provided by a group of international lending institutions.

iQ owns and operates student housing blocks comprising more than 28,000 beds across 27 cities in the UK.
