KKR to Sell Kokusai Electric to Applied Materials

The Firm is representing KKR in connection with the sale of Kokusai Electric Corporation to Applied Materials, Inc. The transaction values Kokusai Electric at approximately US$2.2 billion. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. The Firm also represented KKR in its acquisition of Kokusai Electric in 2017.

Kokusai Electric is a leading company in providing high-productivity batch processing systems and services for semiconductor memory, foundry and logic customers. Kokusai Electric produces semiconductor manufacturing equipment that leverages world-class coating technology, delivering products and services to the world’s top manufacturers.
