Climate Change Adaptation: Fostering Process Through Law and Regulation

03.01.10

Simpson Thacher senior counsel Adeeb Fadil recently co-authored an article entitled "Climate Change Adaptation: Fostering Process Through Law and Regulation" that was published in New York University School of Law's Environmental Law Journal. Focusing on issues posed by adaptation to climate change particularly with respect to New York City,  the article includes a section addressing air emissions regulation and a section addressing federal and state constitutional considerations authored by Mr. Fadil, staff attorney Noreen Lavan, and former associate Mark de Figueiredo.  The article expands on work of the New York City Panel on Climate Change (NYPCC); Mr. Fadil was part of a group of New York environmental attorneys who developed the NYPCC's recommendations to Mayor Bloomberg's Climate Change Adaptation Task Force on how the law may be used to foster, and remove impediments to, the City's adaptation to climate change.
